Factory Manager

KAISER PREMIER, a leading manufacturer of industrial hydro-excavation and sewer-cleaning equipment located in Fort Morgan Colorado, is seeking a welder to join our dynamic team. 

 

DESCRIPTION:

MIG Welder (mainly flux core).  Operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision.  This position provides the foundation for the strong infrastructure.  Welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions.  The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:

  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using tape measures, squares, etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Must be able to walk and stand throughout an eight-hour day. Must be able to consistently lift 50 lbs. from a floor or table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique. Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts. Must demonstrate good hand/eye coordination. Must demonstrate good manual dexterity
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates MIG and TIG welding equipment
  • Connect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by equipment manufacturer and requirements of the application
  • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
  • Cleans or degreases weld joint or work piece
  • Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter
  • Positions and clamps work pieces together or assembles them in jig or fixture
  • Tacks assemblies together
  • Utilizes and abides by safety procedures
  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
  • Must be able to follow API Q1 and ISO 9001 standards: CAR’s, PAR’s, NCR’s, Measuring Equipment, and Process Control

 

COMPENSATION:

Salary Range: $16.00 to $22.00 depending on prior experience
